KIT-AR wins Born from Knowledge innovation Award

The industry 5.0 startup was distinguished by its Research and Development excellence by the Portuguese Innovation Agency.

KIT-AR won the “Born from Knowledge” award, that recognizes excellence in the area of Research and Development (R&D). The accolade is awarded by Agência Nacional de Inovação (ANI) and aims to promote a business culture where scientific and technological knowledge leverages economic value.

From the more than 190 startups competing, KIT-AR was selected to receive this award in the final stage of the “Prémio EmpreendedorXXI”, promoted by CaixaBank, Enisa and Banco BPI.

“It is truly an honor to receive recognition from ANI for our commitment to excellence in research and development. At KIT-AR, we believe that promoting innovation is essential not only for helping our customers achieve their goals more efficiently but also for supporting new work practices that can enhance the role of every factory worker.” said Manuel Oliveira, KIT-AR’s CEO and founder. “We look forward to seeing the growing impact of our R&D efforts on our products and the positive difference they will make in the business of our customers whilst addressing sustainability”.

This award enables KIT-AR to create more awareness for its augmented quality assurance product, that enhances workers in the automotive and aerospace markets, while eliminating human mistakes in manufacturing production lines.

5 days at Hannover Messe with KIT-AR

From April 17th to 21st, KIT-AR engaged in the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology, Hannover Messe! In the German city, we were able to present our innovative solution to all kinds of industry experts in the automotive and aerospace industry while also getting to network with several highly regarded organizations and entities.

“Humans are a fundamental block in manufacturing”

During the 5 five-day event, KIT-AR didn’t stop for a moment. Thanks to AICEP Portugal Global’s invitation, we had the delightful opportunity to discuss how human workers need to be connected to the digital backbone of the factories of the future, in a positive and meaningful way. In this Industrie 4.0 conference, we shared the stage with skilled industry professionals, such as such as André Godinho Luz from Infinite Foundry, Tiago Peralta Santos from Muvu Technologies and Jorge Portugal from COTEC Portugal, who moderated the panel.

Showcasing DEO

Hannover Messe was the perfect occasion to showcase the ground-breaking collaboration between KIT-AR, INESC TEC and Volkswagen Autoeuropa: the Digital Enhanced Operator (DEO) project. This project aims to empower human workers with an AR solution, so that they can do more on the shopfloor with less to no errors.
