KIT-AR’s Pitch at Aerospace Xelerated’s Demo Day

During the 12 weeks of the Aerospace Xelerated’s accelerator, we were able to develop and finetune our pitch, which clearly showed our benefits and journey into the aerospace industry.

KIT-AR had the opportunity to pitch to a worldwide audience, as well as the chance to be in touch and hear from companies like Boeing, Tawazun Council, GKN Aerospace, Etihad and Defence and Security Accelerator.

Aerospace Xelerated: KIT-AR at IDEX 2023

Due to the Aerospace Xelerated’s accelerator, in march 2023, KIT-AR had the opportunity to participate on the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX). IDEX is a trade show and conference focused on defense and security technology and is held, every two years, in Abu Dhabi.

We were able to showcase our augmented quality assurance solution, that enhances the skills of shopfloor workers in manufacturing. Thanks to Aerospace Xelerated, Boeing and Tawazun Council, we were able to attend this event and network with some of the biggest aerospace industry experts.

KIT-AR Joins Aerospace Xelerated’s 4th Cohort

KIT-AR has joined the fourth cohort of Aerospace Xelerated, a funded, 3-month accelerator for startups that can help move the aerospace industry forward.

The program is led by Boeing, in partnership with Tawazun Council, the defence and security acquisitions authority of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Programme partners also include GKN Aerospace, the United Kingdom’s Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) and Etihad Airways. Partners will provide industry insights and expertise during the programme. KIT-AR, along with the other participants, will be granted unparalleled access to industry experts for support in the development of new opportunities.

“We believe that enhancing workers is the way for aerospace companies to eliminate mistakes and errors in their manufacturing production lines. We are delighted that the accelerator shared our vision and selected us for such an impactful programme.”, commented Manuel Oliveira, CEO of KIT-AR.   

The 11 selected startups are focused on improving the aerospace industry and come from all around the world, including Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Netherlands, UAE, UK and USA. Benefits for selected the startups include £100k investment from Boeing; more than £100k in perks; mentoring and firsthand access to the Boeing Company, Tawazun Council and other programme partners; and warm introductions to angel investors, corporates and VCs.

“All the team is ready to take on this challenge.”, Manuel Oliveira said. “As no doubt, this experience will shape KIT-AR’s value in the aerospace field for years to come.”

The programme will last 12 weeks, culminating in a Demo Day in April 2023. Since 2019, the Aerospace Xelerated accelerator has created over 150 jobs across the UK and globally.

KIT-AR with AED Cluster in Aerospace

KIT-AR is a member of the AED Cluster Portugal, the Cluster association for the Aeronautics, Space and Defence Industries, that promotes the advancement and consolidation of the Portuguese AED ecosystem.

During Portugal Air Summit, we had the opportunity to show how we believe a better aerospace industry starts by valuing workers and making tech tools work for them and not the other way around.
